Details of the next Mobile Household Waste Centre (MHWC) visit to Moseley

The Mobile Household Waste Centre (MHWC) is a service that makes it easier for local residents to dispose of household general waste and bulky items responsibly.

Here are the details of the next MHWC in visit in Moseley: 

Date & Time:   Wednesday 9th October 2024 between 07:30 and 13:00

Address:          Augusta Road East – B13 8AJ

Items that can be taken to the MHRC:
*General Household Waste including non-reusable small items of furniture / small electrical items, mattresses etc.
*Garden Waste (this is not recycled)
*Recycling – cardboard, paper, glass, cans, single use plastic, textiles, Tetra paks.

Items they will not accept:
*Building rubble, full or part filled paint pots, sand, concrete, tiles, slabs etc.
*White goods -such as fridges/washing machines
*Large items – such as garage or patio doors
*Hazardous materials – like engine, cooking oil, gas cannisters or asbestos.
*Commercial Waste

  • Residents are advised to arrive at the MHWC by 12:45 to allow time for vehicles to be unloaded before the crew need to leave site.
  • No commercial waste can legally be accepted at any of the MHWCs and any such material will be turned away.
  • Vans are accepted at the MHWC’s subject to a 10 item limitation and a legal declaration that the waste presented is not commercial in nature. As with the Bulky Waste Collection service 2 black bags equals 1 item.
  • BCC Housing vehicles/crews and private housing associations are not permitted to use the MHWC.

At present the MHRC cannot transport re-usable items to the Re-Use Shop so please consider donating them to charity or take directly to the Re-Use Shop at Tyseley. www.birmingham.veolia.co.uk/reuse-shop
