Opening of new stations on the Camp Hill Line delayed further

The opening of new stations on the Camp Hill line, including Moseley Village, has been further delayed.

The stations were originally scheduled to open in late 2023, but this was revised to the goal of opening in December 2024 last year.

Despite receiving reassurances in March that everything was on schedule, I have been informed that the opening will be delayed again until Autumn 2025.

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has said this is due to necessary revisions to the plans for each station as well as new issues in construction that were not clear before, such as drainage issues or the need to reinforce existing structures. They also added that as these stations are being built around a currently active line, i.e. trains will run through the stations while they are being constructed, this has limited the amount of work that can be done without a line closure which would cause significant inconvenience to the public.

See the briefing received here for more information.

TfWM are hosting meetings with residents about these delays and will be holding an information stall at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday 27th July or you can send them your thoughts here: camphill.commonplace.is
